I've been doing not-so-much around here recently. I've just been... oh, I don't know. Reflecting on my life? Contemplating my mortality?

I'd never met James Kim (the CNet editor who died recently trying to get help for his family, stranded in the Oregon wilderness not too long ago) but apparently he graduated from my high school the year before I did, and it's had my thinking on all this lately. It doesn't matter if science make it possible for humans to live for hundreds of years, stuff like this can still happen. And when it comes down to it, I've gotten this far along, half of a decent human lifetime, and not really done anything of note.

At the same time, I find myself sitting in front of these machines day after day.

What does all this mean? I have no idea. I'm going to try to keep up with my friends here, but I may not be around quite as much. Not that I was blogging prolifically anyway.

In happier news, though, I'd forgotten how good original Star Trek actually was.
