I still had to break my date for Tuesday, tho' frown Looks like next Thursday will be the next window. *sigh*

Not much else happenin'. I left my good shirt with the French cuffs at Jane's. eit. I'm gonna try stopping by...

My aunt died last night. Brain cancer. Services will be Tuesday or Wednesday. I'll be driving my mom up to Virginia Monday morning. I'll probably be seeing a lot of people I haven't seen - or even talked to (hell, even thought about) - for years. Kind of fucked up that we only get together when there's a death.

I'm gonna haul my laptop up...

Hang out in the waiting area of your local medical facility...strike up a conversation with random attractive women about the fact that you've lost 2 aunts to brain cancer and that you're scared to get checked out yourself. Score sympathy sex....get checked out.

have a safe trip! take care of your mom and yourself. we'll see you when you get back.

- Lewis Black is one funny motherfucker! I just watched him on Comedy Central and had to go order his "Rules of Enragement" CD.
- Don't get me wrong; I love my new bike like whoa! But I think the Kawasaki Vulcan 500 (my old bike) may be nearly perfect. Six speed, awesome acceleration from a 500cc engine, comfortable cruising at 75-80, big cruiser looks...

You know market forces are a terrible way to regulate anything. Just simply because you only know not to buy into something after it's too late. Thalidomide for example - once we had all these children with deformed limbs we realized that this product was not fit for public use. Not to mention the affected group might be completely disconnected from the people buying the product. You can buy cheap electricity from a different state with no environmental regulations and you would never know that the people in the area of the plant are getting sick unless someone launches an expansive PR campaign.

My mentioning of iceberg lettuce was very intentional. I prefer fresh spinach, myself, but yeah, if you're going to kill the negative calorie aspect of iceberg, you might as well throw some nutrients in there.

You really know you suck when your shrink tells you you suck.

Ok, that didn't actually happen to me. She was very reassuring about my stupid double chin and my stupid crooked gummy non-smile. And she upped my meds because I'm down on my stupid double chin and my stupid crooked gummy non-smile, and I'm apathetic about most everything else.

Got a date for next...

that's an awesome poem.

Yeah - bamboo is pretty remarkable. I remember living next to a grove by a river. It was maybe 20ft tall or more. there were some pieces lying around from when someone had cut a few down. It was crazy because they were so light but incredibly hard and inflexible. I bet you could totaly build a house out of that stuff.

Ah, this bike's more suited for commuting. Very cozy. I like the ride with the windshield on it; I don't have to put my visor down or even hold on too tight. But it's big and dorky looking. So, I'm not sure. I may take it off for warm weather and put it back on when it gets cool. The fucker's beautiful, too. I have...

Well, now that I've had a 55 mile commute home on the new bike, I'm feeling a bit better about it. I was able to ease my death grip and relax a bit. My back hurts a bit, but I think that'll work itself out as I get used to it.

I think adjusting the idle, which they had WAAAAY up, may fix the temperature...

feh. I don't think the new bike's gonna work out.

- The temperature light came on just in the time it took me to drive it from the shop to work (<10mi) eeek
- If I let the clutch out in neutral, it becomes a sonofabitch to get it back into gear.
- The throttle doesn't return to its rest fast enough, so when you push...
