k. so, i'm curious. i notice that a lot of people that belong to this site are occupied in design. i have at least a couple of good friends who are, in fact. so, this is not meant as an affront, but "design" just seems pretty generic. i design software; interior designers decorate homes; i have a fraternity brother, a mechanical engineer, who designs scroll compressors for air conditioners and the like.

what i'm getting at is, don't you have to design *something*? I'm a software developer (my title is actually senior software engineer, but that's a bit full of air for me), but if i were to just tell people i'm a developer, they might think i built houses or worked at the local Ritz Camera, y'see? again, this isn't meant to question the legitimacy of your occupation, rather the description.

anybody?

kiss

things are going almost halfways decently in my world. i fucked up a bit at work, but nothing earth-shattering. trying to port a bit of c++ code back to the old c library, i missed a couple things. since c++ objects can (and mine do) do lots of things under the covers, porting back to a procedural language can be a bit error prone. blush

it was probably his wife's vehicle.

there is one male nurse-midwife in the atl area, and one homebirth male midwife in CA that also does births in Mexico. both of them get a lot of shit.

every now and then there will be a big discussion in the doula/midwife groups about male doulas and midwives and their place at birth. call me sexist, but i don't really believe men besides daddies belong at births. there are some out there, though.

I'm the local admin, but all of our network traffic goes through a larger data center in California, and they add additional filters/firewalls.

I normally just use my phone to do all my non work browsing...makes it easy to avoid getting caught.
