It's been coming at me from all sides this week. Of course, you know about my accident. I heard from the insurance company again today, and they have opted to call it a total loss. I hope I get enough to pay the car off. I'm not going to subject myself to another $400 car payment right now, either. I'm gonna look for a used Benz diesel wagon. Yes, wagon. I like the space for puttin' shit in, particularly so's I can cart fuel home.
I'm gonna see, too, if the bonding company will let me buy my bond off them. I couldn't spring myself from the joint with my credit card, or I would have. I can pay these guys with the card, tho', and they'll be free of me and me of them. They still have my credit card, and the sheriff's dept still has $128 of my money. I gotta remember to call them.
Work. Work has been pretty hectic. I broke something a few months back. A customer is really pissed. What's new? I *fixed* something a few months back, and the same customer is really pissed.
See, we're supposed to print in color only if certain options are set. I noticed that the code wasn't checking those options, so I fixed it. Well, this caused all of the customer's images to print in b&w, much to their (and consequently my boss' and consequently my) dismay. In the end, it was decided that, yes, I correctly fixed a bug. But, I should have let someone know that I made that change and how it would affect the behavior. eit.
One of the managers of a different product here feels that I made an incorrect change to the way tab stops are calculated in the RTF import. There was much back and forth about why I did it and why he thought I shouldn't have done it. In the end, though, he couldn't show me how it created any problem. I showed him how it solved a problem. So far, I've had the last word, But there's always next week. Ah, well. I informed my boss where things stand with it, so he won't be surprised if it escalates.
I spent a couple of hours with the ATLiens tonight for Oryon's birthday. I had 2 cokes. When I got home, I built a g&t. I didn't feel much like partying, but I needed to be among friends for at least a little bit.
