- Jane was here. She drove down yesterday. We hung out a while then went to Macaroni Grill for dinner, then to see Walk The Line. Today we just sorta hung out, read, did sudoku puzzles. She had a date at 7 and left here at 6:30 for that. It was nice to see her.
- Walk The Line was good. I've always been a big Johnny Cash fan. I found out watching the movie that he recorded Live at Folsom Prision the day I was born. I think Reese Witherspoon is cuter than June Carter. Note to self: he wrote a couple of autobiographies. Maybe hunt them down and read them.
- The hard disk in my laptop is going to shit. I was lucky to be able to get a good backup off it this morning. First I spent an hour or so fixing bad sectors on the disk; the friggin' built-in diagnostic tool, while effective, asks me for confirmation to fix EACH AND EVERY bad sector it finds. Then - THEN - it presents a confirmation message that I have to dismiss. So, I have to hit enter for every bad sector. Jebus. Anyway, I really don't feel like blowing dough on a new hard drive, so it looks like frequent backups for now.
- I've been on holiday and vacation all week. It's been pretty good. I did lots of reading, and I actually got a couple things done. I go back to work Tuesday. Hopefully by then I'll be able to get the new exhaust gaskets on my bike and change its oil. I'm waiting for an alternator for the truck, too. Looks like I won't be getting that on time to install this weekend.
- I need to get out of the Branch. This is no life for a young single guy.
