Introduction

A long long time ago I did part 1 of massive catch up blog. Then life and a lack of motivation got in the way. I left the blog on a cliffhanger this blog looks to catch you up to date so anything I post afterwards doesn't need to be on the epic side lol

Introducing..

Before we begin properly I was talking to an amazing hopeful @callina about cats. I joked Marley my cat gets more lady attention than I do lol

So I introduce you to Marley Thompson:

If you want more Marley content I'll make a blog a bout him with more pictures if you comment asking for it below.

I urge anyone reading this blog to check out @Callina and help make this sexy amazing woman pink Callina's Profile

On With The Show

Right so were left it was late 2016 just before Xmas. I had moved back home a few months prior due to the amount of drugs being smoked around my flat in the centre of Weymouth fucking up my mood and sleep cycle.

I had moved out of the home for the first time at 30 to live with my best friend and another friend we lived in the middle of town my front door was on the highstreet!

Weymouth is a tourist town with a large beach and is warmer than the rest of the UK as it has its own ecosystem. Weymouth was made popular by King George III as his favourite bathing spot so it became popular overnight.

I was staying in a Georgian style flat in the middle of town owned by Carphone Warehouse. They didn't care about so it was in a bad state but was so cheap rent wise and was massive.

Living in the town centre was good and bad. You get used to the noise levels (there was a club just a few doors down from my window) and it did make me go party more it was a great experience but I moved back to the family home for good as my health was being ruined by the neighbours being stoners and some of the club patreons.

The reason I couldn't cope with that is I am a manic depressive and pot makes me feel like shit and resets my mood to something random. This was happening all the time so I had no option but to move back in with Mum and Marley.

Turning Point

So I was living with my Mum at the end of 2016 when we both become sick with a chest infection that Mary (mum) got from the Karate grading panel she was helping my brother Peter Thompson and dutifully passed on to me

(Quick aside we are a Karate family Peter is a 6th dan black belt and a 2nd Dan Kubudo instructor I am a 2nd Dan black belt and Mary-Rose Thompson was a 4th a dan black belt)

So that Christmas me and Mary were very sick with chest infections and were ill till after Xmas. While I slowly recovered due to my weak chest Mary could not throw off her infection. Mary was advised by the pharmacist to see a doctor.

Mary went to the doctors and all kind of tests were run eventually some results came back and it was the worst thing that could be found she had cancer in her lungs and bones

The first doctors she saw gave her a month to live!! They turned out to be rubbish but they obviously scared her

I did my best at this time to be there for her we became very close as I got older and when Dad could no longer fly we got our opportunity to travel. Together me and Mary used to do city trips around Europe and we even did an amazing holiday to China visiting all the main places and Hong Kong

In this tough time I was as my name means her rock. Peter was living in his own house and was very busy with Karate teaching (his business) but was helping when he could.

Soon enough we had a consultation in Bournemouth I accompanied Mum to the day we would find out the results. As we are sitting in the waiting room we are trying to keep the mood better with some dark humour. I am reading the literature that Mum was given and avoided and I can see why. Everything pointed to Mum having type 3 cancer the point of no return but I kept a brave face on for Mum till everything I summarized was confirmed....

Buying Time

My fears were confirmed Mary had stage 3 cancer she had smoked on and off but had given up years ago but unfortunately the damage was done. Due to her fitness levels from Karate she never noticed a lack of lung capacity and she was in pain from her athiritis so never noticed new pain. It was only till the cancer was spread so far and she had fluid on the lungs was it flagged up.

Mary was diagnosed to have 6-12 months left. Mary was to try chemotherapy to slow the spread of the cancer there was no stopping it now.

So Mary was to weak for normal chemotherapy so she could only have liquid chemotherapy. Even though the liquid chemo helped it made her very weak and she couldnt contiune to take it long so in the summer Mary had to stop taking any drugs till her passing.

Peter moved back in with Mum and me for the last six months of her life to rally round her.

One Last Hurrah

So with time slipping away and not able to travel abroad me and Mum planned a holiday to the Lake District. Mum was weak but still managed to make all the excursions including a castle high off the bank. Mary made it and was tired but one of the other ladies from the coach seemed like she was dying not Mum she was so unfit lol

Unfortunately I can't find those photos but apart from the castle photo I don't want to share them anyway.

Slipping Away

When we returned from our holiday Mary deteriorated fast soon she was bed ridden and needed carers twice a day. Mary went from talking to sleeping all the time to mid December. Peter's birthday is on the 18th of December and by the end she just didn't want to ruin that or Xmas. The week before Peter's birthday Mary-Rose Thompson passed away. Both Peter and I were there for her final moments RIP mum

Funeral

Shortly before Christmas we were able to have cremation funeral for Mary-Rose Thompson. Mary was beloved by so many family, friends and the karate community she now rests at the crematorium alongside Roy Thompson along with a comemorative plaque.

Heres a couple of pictures of Peter Me and his ex Claire who was brilliant during a difficult time for us.

Here Are Some Photos Of Mary-Rose Thompson

My Tribute

What to say about this amazing woman? She was a power pack 4"11 and all important 3 quarters. Mum was a wonderful driven women who had time for everyboday. She was a drill sergant in the Air force then went into market research till she ran the family, my father earned the money Mary did everything else.

Mum was funny and caring and was a great friend to me well as my Mum

I miss you greatly Mum and hope if there is an afterlife you are happy there with Dad

This saying from my cousin sums how you remember someone

So 2 Bros One House

So after Mum passed 5 years after Dad me and Peter mostly inheirted the family house we bought when the family moved down from Kent. The house is a 5 bedroom Georgian detached farmhouse with garage 2 good size gardens and thanks to Peter a hot tub ;)

Here is a picture of the the house:

After months of lawyers we received this house 50/50 full of stuff as my Dad had filled it to the brim its been an ongoing job to sort out stuff till this day.

Life with Peter has been ok we are very different men but recognise we need to stick together. Peter has two sons from his previous relationship Brendan who 6 foot 4 18 year old who is a lovely young man and Sebastian or Seb who is 7years old. Seb is at the best age at 7 we get to play Lego and as well play computer games I love them both we share them with Peter's ex wife.

Brendan and Seb are my nephew's and I love them both. Last night young Seb somehow managed to squirt toothpaste on his fore head it was so funny lol

Lockdown

Obviously Corona is a thing that has shaken the world my brother teaches Karate/Kubudo and runs a gym has had to teach by Zoom. Things are relaxing now he can teach in parks but not his gym yet.

Due to extra time we have done some amazing work on the backyard with our lodger and removed the overgrown raspberry bush that had death by brambles. We also managed to sort out a full garage of stuff.

More work needs to be done on the gardens and the house but we will get there.

My future

During the last couple of weeks I have worked to reset my sleep cycle. This might not sound like much but routine and sleep cycle are major problems for me as a manic depressive. I plan to learn the C++ courses I have so I can program in Unreal 4 as I look to make my own games and be my own boss. Who better to manage your than you yourself
