My Birthday Bash

On the 13th of May I turned 35 were has the time gone? lol. I am still celebrating my birthday with a meal with close friends tomorrow. But for most people I was hoping to have an epic night out on last Wednesday the 18th as my best friend from school had come down.

So I arranged to have a meal at Prezzo a real tasty Italian restaurant. I booked a table for 15-20 unfortunately only 11 could turn up. The food in Prezzo is gorgeous and some had membership so we were able to get the offer that was 2 for 1 on the mains saving us a lot of cash :) I had one of my nephews sat next to me 15 and as tall as me know the epitome of the growing boy and a gannet lol

Me and Brendan shared a garlic bread pizza which I added goats cheese to was luscious. For mains I had spaghetti carbonara instead of a massive Pepperoni pizza that Brendan got next to me as I didn't want to be bloated before going drinking. I finish my carbonara an Brendan can't finish his pizza I am shocked he never leaves food lol so I finish up his pizza can't leave good pizza go to waste ;)

Desserts are of course next and Prezzo do amazing cheesecakes a honeycomb cheesecake with chocolate sauce is gorgeous but I decide to try the hazelnut cheesecake instead. Mmmmm cheesecake was as gorgeous as the honeycomb if not better. Brendan has the honeycomb and again can't finish his pud so I have to do the right thing and finish his cheesecake ;)

So I was stuffed after the meal and we had good food and a good laugh. Out of the 11 out of the meal only myself and 2 others Craig (best school friend) and another school friend Ash are left we head to the bar the Lounge were we supposed to meet people. To put it in perspective I invited 50+ through facebook talked to many of them and was expecting some more than I got.

After 30 minutes or so the group was me Craig, Ash and his friend Craig. To say I was disappointed was an understatement as so many said they were coming. Then in walks a friend called James we knew each other on off for years he came to my 30th and we had a great laugh then.

So we start drinking.... I myself haven't drank properly for 3 years since my Father passed away. I was always really good at it but for years its not appealed I can have a good time completely sober I don't need it to let inhibitions go, if I want to dance or whatever I don't care what others think :)

Doubles are £3 that night in the Lounge rather than £5, time to get reaquated with an old friend Jack. So in the lounge I have about 7 doubles and 3 jagerbomb chasers.

It soon came very apparent this was our group for the night no one else was coming rather than be bummed out I decide to have a good time regardless. As we are planning to go on from the Lounge Ash and his friend Craig leave the party for early nights as they have work. So then there as 3....

So the 3 of us Me, Craig and James head to the seafront to see were the horde of drinkers had assembled. We go in the Lazy Lizard normally very busy but dead at the time as most were out watching the football Liverpool getting outplayed by Sevilla ;)

But what it was in the Lizard was open mic night there was 1 act performing he was really good though so we stayed for his set I had a couple of Hooches (a blast from the past) and we decided to move on to another blast from the past.

Me and Craig started drinking young with my brothers friends I started at 14 on the hooch when it first came out. The club we used to go to was called Verdis a tiny place that played indie/rock/grunge music and most of the clientele were underage like myself and Craig at the time. Verdis got bought out a couple of years back and turned into The Closet now the local gay bar. The place is much nicer, better layed out plays decent music, well priced drinks and is the last place open most nights. Its also as Ash (who is gay) puts it "more straight people in there on a Saturday night then gay". So I had to show Craig what had become of Verdis and have a good laugh there.

Now I like to dance drunk or sober, Craig and I used to love to go dancing that's what we did when we were 15 in Verdis. As for James hes a great laugh and up for a boogie so we dance and drink the rest of the night away. One more young lad joins us which is cool as I wanted to catch up with him. The Closet is the last bar that night and it was 4am when we leave and start heading home.

After all that drinking though well over 10-12 double jds 2 hoochs and 3 jagerbombs I was fine hangover wise just a bit dehydrated as I drank water throughout the night i was good. But I am feeling rather rough atm from the cold I picked up from my close friends on the 14th luckly it only started on the 19th the day after as its a nasty one.

So one last meal in the White Hart tomorrow with my close friends some who couldn't make the 18th and my birthday celebrations will be over but this year they lasted 10 days so I think that is long enough lol

Then on the 4th of June I am going to see the Streophonics live in Cardiff they are an awesome band I'll leave you with a taste of them. Speak to all you people later from Alan

It sounds like you had a great party! The last birthday party I had where lots of people showed up was my 25th birthday party. But, I was also going to college at the time and we would always go to this one bar on Thursday nights. My birthday fell on a Thursday, so even classmates that didn't know about my party were there. Three of my friends even got me presents, which was nice of them! However, the bar called me around 7 or 8p.m. asking where I was. I told them I had scheduled the party for 10p.m. It wouldn't make any sense to schedule it sooner because we had night classes that ended at 10. So, by the time we got there, the balloons were deflated, but it was nice that they had balloons. When I set up the party and asked about what the cost would be, I was told that I would only have to pay for the baklava. The bar had told me they would get some baklava for me from a local bakery because it is my favorite desert. But- when I got the bill, it was $100! My mother, who came to visit and my boyfriend at the time had already left and I didn't have enough to pay it, so I had to borrow money from one of my friends :( Their excuse was that the extra money was to tip the waitresses. I wasn't told that before-hand, so my friends and I had already been tipping them throughout the night. Very shady. But, other than that, it was fun! My girlfriend is younger than me. She just turned 29 last month. My sisters and I had some great birthday celebrations with her! They kept saying that your birthday lasts a whole week. I was a little jealous, because they didn't make a big deal about my birthday, but overall I'm happy! I had a great time too and I love her so much!

Sounds a great birthday. Its good to hear your happy in a relationship, this is the first time I had a week birtthday. My 30th was pretty gooda s well and on my 18th I tripped my tights off on absinthe :)
