Well, I've spent the past week at my parents' house here in Philadelphia. As always, the locals are quite interesting. When I arrived last Saturday, my parents told me that there had been a fight outside the night before. Apparently, a woman who lives on the block got beaten up by her sons, one of whom is blind. While they were beating her, they shouted that she was a whore.
The woman in question, though married, had been sleeping with the friend of her older son. She is apparently something of a slut, dancing flirtatiously with other men while her husband sits on the step glowering. The boys' father was also lying on the ground unconscious. My parents said someone had knocked him out, but they didn't know who did it. Someone called the police, but the mother refused to press any charges so they left.
Several days later, in the evening, my parents noticed flashing lights outside. Looking out the window, they saw the older boy being taken away by the police. Not certain if it was another fight or something else happened. Afterward, the boy's mother and her friends just sat back down on their steps and continued talking as if nothing had happened.
