The end being by the end of the century, as experts have estimated. Granted, by 2050, the world is going to be a much different place and much harder for all of us to live on. Our collective ignorance and ego have already started to rob all life on this floating space marble. We passed 400ppm in 2016, which barely got covered in the news, and recently it came out that those estimates were miscalculated and low. We have already passed the 'point of no return'. It is only a matter of attempting to improve what it is now and improve our coping skills for what is coming.
History shows that we mandated the ruthless slaughter of peoples that disagreed with popular opinion of the powerful and ruling classes. Colonialism ravaged the world of incalculable free-thinkers, for lack of a better term to lump so many in to. Those who dared question authority, dead. Those who dared question the existence of god, dead. Those who dare question "proper descent", dead. Those who dare challenge hatred, bigotry, misogyny, rape, torture, slavery, sex trafficking, and murder... dead. So many potentially bright futures snuffed out by the whims of powerful madness, greed, vanity, and lust. With no significant resistance, our species has been the indentured servants of those who claim themselves masters. We're all being led into untimely demise due to the lack of perception and consideration of so very few. This tradition must end if we are to survive...
