Kate is fast becoming one of the floor favorites for nurses at Sacred Heart. She works so hard and has the cutest "uh huh" response that makes them all smile. Today she blew away the p-t who had been off since Friday...raising her arms and legs to command and displaying great strength at holding her head up for a while.
Tonight will be her second consecutive night with the plugged trach. She could have it removed by Friday...and perhaps be EATING some food by the weekend!!!!! Can you believe that?!?!?!?!? They'll start with ice chips and then give her applesauce once they determine that her swallowing reflex is good.
Can't wait for tomorrow's progress!!!!
