Kate is moving to Sacred Heart Hospital today. She left Burlington at 2 p.m. I stopped at home to enter this post, while Dave rode with her in the ambulance. We are excited about the prospect of the good Sacred Heart can do for Kate as soon as she emerges...which we were hoping was imminent. Today, however, Kate had a couple of little setbacks: two or three minor seizures (for lack of a better word) where her right shoulder, arm and occasionally her head, shook. It was scary to see...but nothing really out of the ordinary I guess for brain trauma patients. (More we are learning....) They increased her seizure medicine and gave her a dose of valium and the tremors stopped and she slept. Keep praying. I'll update again tonight when I get home from the hospital. Mom Angie

Kate's mini-seizures continued through the afternoon and early evening. We had the hospital staff put a cot in Kate's room so Dave can spend the night with her. Today was so emotional for me....I had great difficulty watching the shaking spasms. The good thing, as Dave pointed out yet again, is that when these spasms happen, Kate's vital signs don't increase...so he does not think they are really seizures...plus they are localized and not over her entire body. A neurosurgeon ordered another EEG for tomorrow and we will meet him later in the day to hear the results. Routines are all different again...so we are adapting. There is no telemetry in her room...and we are not used to NOT seeing her pulse, respirations, oxygen level, blood pressure, etc. We've been watching all the numbers so closely for nearly 5 weeks that this will take some getting used to. Keep her in your prayers, please. Mom Angie

Once I get this job thing straighten out, then I'll find me a spot. That's the plan for now.
