What a day! Kate struggled with a few minor fever problems (blood pressure, heart rate, etc) last night...but all in all, it was a quiet night. Today, however, was different. It was a busy day: an EEG and a CT scan. We haven't gotten the results of the latter yet, but a neuro doctor read the EEG and said there was no sign of seizures, there WAS brain activity, and that he had HIGH HOPES for Kate!!!! Right after that report, I met Kate's respiratory therapist who said that 6 years ago when she was 21 (Kate is 21), she was in a car accident and suffered the same type of brain stem injury as Kate, was in a coma for over three weeks, had a trach and was on a vent, then emerged and went to Lakeview Hospital (where Kate was). The only reminder of her ordeal? A slightly lower voice...!!!!!!! To top it all off, Kate displayed lots of movement today: her toes, her arms, even her eyes. When I asked her to open her eyes, her eyelashes fluttered and her eyes darted around under the lids. It was an incredible HOPE-filled day! Thank you for all the prayers and support. Keep it up, please!!!! Mom Angie
