If you're new around these parts ( and by "these parts" I mean my journal) you may not know that last year I created "theme weeks" for my ever-rotating favorite SG list. If you do remember those days well, they're back
However due to a promise I made here I will rotate my entire list, with the exception of the amazing Sloane.
That said, welcome to "Girls With Glasses" week on my list. Ok, so it's not really a full week because I'm starting on Wednesday, but just go with it.
In other news, I interviewed for another job today. I'm definately a shoo-in for this one. The question is, do I want it? It's not a matter of the ability to do the work, that's no problem. The problem is the money. $8.50 an hour and roughly 30 hours a week. Mind you I owe the federal government money (taxes & student loans), my credit card company money, my phone company money, and I'm trying to move out of my mom's house by the end of summer (for the sanity of all involved). I'm doubting that I should take the gig. Although, Aikaterine had a good point when I talked to her about it. She said that I could work there for a while until a position becomes availabe higher up in the company. My responce was that I tried retail management in the past and didn't like it. I doubt I'd like it any more now. It does, however, seem like something I'm destined to continue doing. I'm good at customer service, I'm honest, trustworthy and make regional managers comfortable. I don't know what I'm going to do yet.
I had an interesting coincidence on the way home from the interview: On the bus I was reading a Batman trade paperback (Batman: Year One). I grabbed it on my way out of the house this morning, as I'd been meaning to reread it for a while.
So I'm on the bus reading and thinking about the possibility of the job, including the neighborhood. It's not the best, but it's not the worst either. For no particular reason I look up from my Batman book and look around the neighborhood. And what was the intersection the bus was stopped at? "Chelton and Wayne" Was this a message that I should take the job? Or was it just another in a long list of coincidences that I tend to put far too much stock into?
