Let's take a look at the love life of one of my favorite fictional charachters:

*edit* I was going to make a long entry chronicalling the history of his love life here, but I'll do that some other time.

Daredevil & Elektra

They fell in love. She fought him tooth & nail several times. She died in his arms.

Daredevil & Karen Page

She was hired as his legal secretary. They fall in love. She betrays him. He forgives her and saves her life. They fall back in love. She dies in his arms protecting him.

Daredevil & Typhod Mary

Split personality. Hired to make Daredevil fall in love with both of her personalities, and to beat him within an inch of his life. Succeeds in both. DD turns tables on her. After she falls in love with him and sleeps with him, he leaves her in a psychiatric ward.

Daredevil & Black Widow

She saves his life. They fall in love. They have a good relationship until personality conflicts surface. They break up. They never stop loving each other. Both are too stubborn to admit and realize that they still love each other and are right for each other.

Yep, this is my hero's love life in a nutshell. A little different then Clark Kent & Lois Lane, no? Believe me there are several more women in his life. But they mostly just die on him eventually in unimaginative ways.
