"Favorite Films" list meet Sin City. Sin City meet my "Favorite Films" list. I just know you two will get along famously. Also, "Current Crush" list meet Devon Aoki. Devon Aoki meet my "Current Crush" list. You guys were made for each other:
My first words to my friend Samantha after leaving the theater: "You know when a movie is great? When you leave the theater and can't wait to own the DVD."
All this is to say that if you haven't seen Sin City yet, get off your ass, shut off the computer and go see it now. It will be the most talked about film of the year. I believe it is an amazing step forward in the evolution of digital filmmaking (see Sky Captain? Entire sets done in Chroma-key can actually look well-done.) To say nothing of the acting and writing. I hope that Robert Rodriguez (one of my 5 favorite directors of all-time) will finally get the praise that he deserves for being such a visionary. Unless something comes out of left field and blows me away, this is my favorite film of the year. Not only was it entertaining, but it was a technological marvel that will change the way movies are shot.
