Today was not fun. I was sick off my ass, hacking and coughing all day. My new position decided to adopt the worst aspects of my old position. The very reason I left my old department (inbound call queue) has followed me to my new one (Wonder Stress powers activate! Form of: Ulcer!). What got me through the day you ask? My love of musicals.

Anyone who doesn't like at least one musical is a frightening individual that I wouldn't trust around my future children. I was lucky to be raised in a musically ecclectic household. I was as likely to hear "Goodnight Saigon" as I was to hear "Trouble (In River City)", "Chain of Fools", "Atomic Dog", "Killer Queen" or "The Breaks". I have my mom and grandmom exclusively to thank for the musicals. All prologue aside, these songs (and others from the same productions) got me through the day with a big smile.

Well, these and the co-worker I have a slight crush on (I mean she's a devout Christian who drives around with a Bible in her car, never curses, and likes Ministry and NiN; who wouldn't be intrigued by her?), but that's neither here nor there.

"Pickalittle, Talkalittle" from The Music Man

"America" and "Cool" from West Side Story

"Heaven on Their Minds", "Judas' Death" and "Superstar" from Jesus Christ Superstar Yes it's technically an opera but go with it
