It was a lovely non-denominational outdoor ceremony in front of a gazebo at a country club. The bride and groom (Samantha & Joshua) personalized the affair so that it fit thier personalities more than a template. In fact, thier personality was all over this thing.

Their tables were named after cities they visited as a couple and had pictures of them in said city at the tables. If that's not a really cool, unique idea, I don't know what is. And speaking of "unique", the happy couple made their entrance to the reception hall to a tv theme song. What show you ask? Well first there was an organ, then...
Several months ago, they told me they wanted to use that song, but never in a million years did I think they'd go through with it. God bless 'em. I had a feeling of pride as the strolled into the hall to this particular fan, as I was their supplier and got them hooked
The rest of the reception was wonderful, and greatly assited by two words: Open. Bar. . My first wedding since I turn 21 and it's open bar. Fate truly shines on us in ways we least expect it.
I met Samantha in college. We were members of something Temple University called a "learning community". Basically these were tiny groups of wide-eyed Freshmen that had the same majors and were assigned thier core classes together for the first year. It was an optional choice forall incoming freshmen, and I just happened to sign up for it. Little did I realize that 4 years out of college (and 7 years after that first semester) I would still be friends with many of the members of that community. To paraphrase Dick Vitale "it was serendipity, baby!" Aside from Samantha (who had a very special table to sit at last night), ther rest of the former learning community were seated at the Paris table. Lauren, Chioma, and some weirdo who calls himself "Akira" online.
Yes, I had a date last night, no, she's nothing more than a friend. I've known Cinna since college as well. We didn't have any classes together, but we worked together for about 3 years and had a few mutual friends through work. Aside from our mutual friends though, she really has never met any of my friends except Buster_Hymen (who used to kill time and shoot the shit in the store with me on occassion) and Lyfeforce (who came to her apartment party earlier this year). I had been trying to get Cinna to meet my other college friends for a while. Not in any attempt to combine all of my friends into one huge lump, I realise that not all my friends would get along as famously as some others. But because Cinna's energy would just fit in with this particular group so well. I may not know calculus or how to spell terribly well, but apparently I know people, as they got on fabulously.
Pictures and possibly more text later...
