I *adore* Stir of Echoes, and it's one of those movies that is on cable a lot it seems. We're always flipping by it, and stopping to at least watch some of it. I think part of what makes it work so well is that it has lots of different kinds of scares - there is a total creepy mood, but there are plenty of "boo!" jumps and even a couple of really gruesome, squirming moments (this is all I have to say: nails coming off....ewwwww....).
