Ok.. so a little backstory to go with my existence here:
I'm 25, just started on a Culinary Arts major at MCTC, got fired for the first time from my last job, and am an aspiring SG.

Any other Linux users in the house? I have nothing better to do than compile software on those long hung-over Sundays lately. Fucking dependencies. Where is apt-get when I need it? Oh, yeah... I use Mandriva. Cheap, but lacking a bit in functionality.

Ubuntu: I've heard of, but never used.. apparently you can get a version with KDE, which is the interface I've been using. Doesn't it take debian packages for installation? That would be nice to have... finding rpm's for Mandriva is kinda difficult sometimes.
