Oh my goodness...I hope you feel better!!!!
Take Ginger if you can...that stuff makes me feel tons and tons better when my stomach is all screwy!
I'd give you mine if you lived next store.

You guys went to San Diego comic con? I'm soooooo jealous!!! I have always wanted to go for like ever. I'm an ex-hardcore comic geek and man....that was like mecca for me. Man I miss my geeky ways. Well I still play video games...I guess that geeky.

Fable looks really really good, and very time consuming. I'm sure i will not get all the scarves I wanted to make for Christmas if that is in my house!

Mmmm...cookies. You want to taste the best cookie related product ever....Ben and Jerry's Oatmeal Cookie Chunk ice cream. For awhile it was only available in the stores but they have finally put it out in pint form. When you are feeling better you definately must try it...its downright heavenly! I normally only go for Soy based ice creams...but I cheat for that stuff!

Mmm...I'm hungry now damnit! I think i'm going to go have some spiced pecans from Whole Foods...mmm.

I hope you feel better, again!!

Ooops, forgot to reset alarm to 10 am instead of six.....so i had trouble falling back asleep.

Found out last night we actually have semi-cool neighbors! I mean, i don't really know them yet but i have seen them at the Co-op before, they called "hello" to me as i walked by their apartment, then we started talking. This other girl i have always seen...

Hearing "US forces have bombed Fallujah as an answer to the insugent...." etc. on NPR as the first thing i hear on my clock radio is not the happiest thing in the world. I mean, it is gross, but i guess i have become hardened to a certain extent by all the horrible stupid pointless mass-violent shit we have been doing over sea lately, but...

Portland isn't painful...coming back to Philly is. I LOVe Portland. We're actually supposed to be moving there eventually. But because of my whole mom thing we've been stuck here a lot longer then initially thought. I want to finish school out there. And my man's brother lives there, and his best friend lives in seattle...so I'm all down with the west!

Mmmm...hemp yarn...I have an insanely soft hemp yarn right now. I still love wool about all else, but I do see the glory that is hemp. I was thinking about making scarves for everybody for Christmas...but i'm not sure i'm that insane. Thats a massive undertaking. Last year I made everyone felted stuff. Maybe I'll just stick to hats.

And I totally agree on the whole male/female thing. I do know alot of good guys and I shouldn't say general things like that. I just hate how both sexes can be so self-obsessed at times...you know? I hate all the shit my dad has done, but i know a woman is just as capable of it. I was just cranky.

Mmm...pumpkin scent..with a little cinnamon and nutmeg...mmm...now thats the ticket! smile

Lesseehere....

I didn't end up taking any pictures of the Renaissace faire yesterdays. Oh well. It was still sort of fun, but it had been a few years since i last went and i forgot how dumb it was in some ways. Like how unconvincing it is as a re-enactment. And how so few of the vendors actually sell anything near authentic renaissance stuff. There...

Today should be busy. I am already behind. Gr3g, myself, and my friend patric are heading out to the Shrewsbury Renaissance faire, but we are already an hour behind schedule. Gr3g was playing World of Warcraft's Beta test version until about 5 or so this morning so i hate to wake him up until after i am done getting ready. And obviously i am not...

showers are better cuz you don't have to sit in your own filth.. yeah those Jehovah's Witnesses have their script, they say that to everyone. you should have flashed him and said "here's your god bitch"!
aponia:
Sigh...I miss the goth clubs I used to go to in NYC...they were in all sorts of creppy places.

Hmmm..I like showers. Baths get cold and I get really bored after the first ten minutes. Maybe because its very very hard to knit while there. smile

Down the street from our Local Whole Foods used to be a Scientology center...they were constantly trying to get people in to hear about their weird religion. So one day I walked by, they harrased me, and I turned around and said "I only believe in our lord and savior Jesus Christ you heathen". Needless to say they never bothered me again. smile

Change the name to Satan when pesky pushy Christians do the same thing. Normally they're to awe struck to say anything back! wink

Today was a weird day. And random comments/rants ensue.

Wore makeup this morning which is something i rarely do anymore. Last time was like 2 months ago. I usually just end up smearing it everywhere eventually or getting it in my eyes, so usually i don't bother. I love black lipstick though in that "i still haven't gotten over the highschool goth thing" sort of...

I saw those little stuffed critters ina store. I so Want one!!! I mean..stuffed animal single celled organisms...how cool is that!!!

My sister is 24. She's just pisses me off, she lives so close to my parents but can't be bothered. My mom has stage 4 colon cancer. She's had about 9 different cancers total, starting not long after my sister was born. So its this odd thing off being comfortable with it, but at the same time I'm terrified of it. Stage 4 is pretty serious, and she almost died last year of an infection, so it just drives me nuts to see my dad and sister acting like spazzes. Its difficult to see anyone going through it.

Oh my goodness...you like the Hope Blister??? YAY!!! I never meet anyone who likes them! I loved them from the start since they are pretty much This Mortal Coil but with a new name. That album is just amazing....I forgot how much I loved it.

Mmmmm...french toast. The vegan version may work...but i'm a little weary about the soy milk only too. Like it needs a thickening agent or something...maybe maple syrup in the batter?

I'm sorry about the lack of funds. I was unemployed for a year before my current job, and I have the maxed out credit cards to show for it. Very very depressing...but something is out there for everyone...you know?

I need sleep...I've been up knitting much too late.
And I'm all gross from working on my sweater....you don't realize until after you put it down just how warm a big wool sweater can make your lap feel. Yuck!
And i'll have pictures soon...I promise!

night!

Ugh, bad-bad-bad-ish start to the day. Fuxors. i hate early mornings, and i am sad gr3g got laid off. So sad. And i was happy so much yesterday. I hate this mood. I am going to work. I love you gr3g........i am so sorry that happened, and i am sorry it is making me so sulky....

Hey Slie

I'm very very sorry about gr3g getting laid off. frown I've been laid off before and I know all about the major crappyness it leads too. What a shitty way to finish up a week!!!

I have a few credit card maxed out on yarn...so if I can get a credit card and do that...you can buy a tattoo with it! smile I want a knitting motif on each arm..like a bracelet. In my head it looks like the beginnings of sleeves of a sweater, with the ends unraveling a little. And the one i wanted forver and ever is a bat across my back, between my shoulder blades. I want a detailed bat, like in those 19th century diagrams of wildlife. I have loved bats ever since I was a child, so it seems very natural to want one with me all the time. I also want a jack o' lantern on one of my shoulders...and about a billion other things. I'm like you...lots of ideas...but bare skin thus far. Now if only i could win the lottery.

We're going to Portland next week, and I'm so clueless what i'm supposed to pack. When we went to visit last October they were having like some freak cold spell, so this time we're like, is it cold, is it hot...what is it? I think we're going to Crater Lake and stuff while there, and i'm assuming it will be cold. ARGH! I hate packing...I'm such a doofus!

Mmmmm...cookies. I love cookies. I get these awesome vegan ones at Whole Foods...mm...I could go for one right now. Stupid work!!

I hope your weekend is good, even with the news and all!

Hi Aponia!

The whole laid off thing is treally starting to sink in. In two weeks gr3g will be on unemployment and foodstamps again, hopefully it is enough to eat and pay rent.....otherwise i suppose it is dumpster diving time again (haven't really *needed* to do that for a while). I doubt i will get saddled with all the rent, but last time when i did there wasn't enough money left for food. I hate that feeling utterly. Like, if i was working on a farm like some of my friends do i would be making shit for maney, but i would have tons of food. Ahhhrg! I can't dwell on this right now.

The knitting tattoo idea is really cool! I can honestly say i have never seen anything like that before. It is something specific to your hobbies which is cool. I can't really think of anything like that.....but mostly i am just attracted to art from books that i have, like Where the Wild Things Are and other kids books. Also there is this medieval print type tattoo that is a triangle formation of birds, i want it just above my ass crack in the middle of that "butterfly" muscle formation. Yay, crack enhancement! I am totally tempted to max out a credit card. Ahrg. I feel like i need to wait until i can tell how poor Greg and i are going to be.

Packing for Portland next week? Its always so confusing....I'd go for layered, because it will probably will be could but maybe warm enough in the afternoons that you can waer a t shirt. Unless the rain starts already. Oregon weather is rad. And I love Portland. There is so much good culture there. Do you like old style video games? I don't know if you have time for such things, but if you get a chance go to Ground Kontrol because they are awesome! Personally i just play Tetris all the time because for some reason i am a sucker like that for repetitive puzzle like, sometimes incremental speed games (tetris, dr mario, popcap games in general, etc...), and i just end up playing that the whole time while i am there, listening to the rad tunes while greg runs around playing everything! The guy who owns the place has fun taste in music. He plays a lot of "old school" electronic and old sounding stuff (mixed in with a bunch of totally random other styles of music), which is so great while playing games. I love Portland. I would like to live there eventually. Greg doesn't like it as much as me, and we were staying in Corvallis because of his job. Maybe that will change now! Who knows. The hunt begins.

Oh, and here are some awesome things in Portland that i haven't got a chance to go to yet.... Nocturnal's Craft Night which i have heard is really fun...i mean come on, what is more rawk than drinking and knitting? Hilarity ensues! Also Portland has a local chapter of The Church of Craft which sounds funny and interesting to me because they are basically an ordained church that practices crafting! awesome!

So anyway, thanks for writing back and adding me as your friend! AWWW, warm squishies!

Take care....more later!
-Slie over and out.

I am off to KBVR in a bit here because i think this may be my friend James' last radio show ever in Corvallis, maybe. We have both done the Happy Death Ritual for a while, both of us together and seperately at times, although he has done that show for like 6 years as to my 2 or less. He is awesome and so...

Hey Slie,

Yeah...cables are a cinch. Its really exciting because people go ooh and ahh but only I know the secret! smile I think knitting in general is like that, it looks a lot more difficult then it really is. It gets easier, I promise!

Now I totally want the Martha Stewart Halloween Mag! I only really get into the holiday ones. Because normally I'm not a fan, but I do admit, the occasional time I watch the show I am interested.
Tee hee...that picture...I mean, if your going to make each individual finger of a glove you have to flip off a camera at some point, you know?

I was thinking maroon, orange and sage actually. I think i'm going to do a bunch of items in multi-color, but not cheesey rainbow multi-color, so it can be for a boy or girl.
Or maybe i'm just thinking way too much about this!

Nice to meet you too!

Gory never writes anything in here, so i guess i will. Hopefully i iwll be able to afford my own profile soon, but as of now i am so brokety i am avoiding buying food and opting for the free "past pull" stuff that ends up in the fridge at work. Yummms. This site seems pretty nice, although it seems like some of the girls...
