It is amazing to me the amount of drama that I have because of others. Last night I had to listen to my brother cry about his ex. He'd been drinking again.

I do feel bad for him and don't want him to hurt. Unfortunately though most of his problems are a direct result of choices that he has made. I can't just flat out tell him that because that would hurt him, but I have to find creative ways to tell him that he makes lousy choices.

So that was my night. I am hoping that he heals soon. Usually he does this by getting himself a new girlfriend. This would not be great for him because he rushed into the last relationship that has brought us to this point. Oh well, we shall see how this works out.

I would certainly wait till he's sober before confronting him about his choices. It is important to tell him what you think however, good or bad. Sometimes that outside point of view can really put things into perspective. My opinion is that if you do talk to him, make sure you explain that your thoughts are because you care and want him to be happy. Such concerns can always put him on the defensive, and that certainly won't help.
