The Michigan House of Representatives voted to drop a nuclear bomb on the Upper Peninsula today.

Well, not really. But what they did vote on is just as ridiculous. They voted directly on party lines to close two prisons and cut a serious amount of funding to Upper Peninsula schools. Tom Casperson, a republican representative from Escanaba (in da U.P., eh?) voted with his moron Republican friends (sorry bb, but I can't help but yell about Republicans in this instance). I hope he realizes that either a) his constiuents in the UP will no longer be there because his moronic vote is going to force them to move or b) his career is dead because no yooper in their right mind would vote for that asshole again.

This makes me so angry. I love the Upper Peninsula. The Lower Peninsula seriously just takes advantage of everything up here. They come up here and I watch them throw trash around when they camp. I want them transfer their diseases from lake to lake without caring that species didn't belong there and are killing other species. I watch them cut down the fucking trees and kill the animals. And then I watch them cut the funding to a bunch of people who are just trying to save one of the only unfucked up places in Michigan.

What the fuck is wrong with these people? Seriously. I'm not even from this god damned state and I cried this morning when I heard about it. This is going to devastate the upper peninsula, and no one gives a shit because no one pays attention to the news. And if they do, they're too stupid to figure out what is actually going on.
