So the conference was a complete success. I got some story ideas and made some plans for diversifying the paper's coverage.
Rob and I also decided we're going to change the paper's flag so it's more appealing. Something involving a picture of the Dome and Lake Superior, and also change the font. I, personally, decided next year Diversions is going to have its own monstrous picture title page to go along with the main feature. It's my goal that by the end of my term as editor-in-chief, the paper will win an ACP Best of Show award. Either 1st place in Minneapolis, or at least an honorable mention at nationals.
On a non-paper related note, I also met up with one of my best friends while I was there - Chris, who is the managing editor of the Daily Tar Heel at UNC-Chapel Hill. It was so great to see him; it's been a year and a half. Chris' friends, Chris and I played drinking games. I finally got back to my ghetto hotel two miles outside of the city at 3 a.m. It's scary taking a cab that late in a city like Nashville. Nashville is such a hole.
Ugh, alright, back to work. So much homework to catch up on. Thanks for everyone who left me messages
