Today I discovered that I have the night off to go down and see Meshuggah next week on top of the other three shows I have planned. And to top it off there is a really awesome local band opening at that show, and I cant wait to just throw myself into an assortment of pits. I went to the post office after picking my daughter up from school because I had to mail something. As I am standing in line, the guy behind me, an older white male with a wicked goatee, commented on my Cthulhu Fhtagn shirt. We had a conversation about Lovecraft that evolved into a conversation about Harry Houdini, another of my favorite people. It turns out this guy was a professional magician, and he showed my daughter some coin tricks while I was filling out customs forms and such. I was really impressed with how cool this guy was, and how awesome it was to meet someone randomly in the post office who was pleasant to talk to.
