I went and saw DOWN at Harpos in Detroit last night. It may have been the best show I have ever seen.
Phil is definitely sounding better than ever, and the energy and intensity of the show was beyond belief. It was a good, metal loving crowd void of a bunch of punk kids in eyeliner, and provided a pit that I endured for the duration and am now struggling to move because of. Absolutely amazing. The highpoint of the show was the encore. They came out and played jail, extended with more lyrics and sung really clear. They followed it up with stone the crow, absolutely amazing, and finished with my favorite down song, BURY ME IN SMOKE. Once again they extended it with more lyrics at the end, I was floored by it.
If you havent bought the new album, you really dont know what you are missing.
