Silence

There is a machine outside around us. It is the quantum-verse an ever churning unpredictable machine that encompasses all. There is never a total silence in our world as long as there is heat in the cosmos around us. Every particle disturbs every other particle across multiple dimensions and our particles are no exception. The beating of our hearts echoes the pulses from a distant quasar. The far is replicated in the near, down to our very being, just as the twirling spirals in a cloud and a fractal mimic each other. If we listen we can hear the voice of it the one, the everything, the cosmos. This is what religions of old called God, a super being that knew all and saw all. The universe is my god, my one, my all, and I am part of it. To my individual cells, my collective existence constitutes godliness, and to the mother earth beneath my feet I am another part which benefits her. The entire chain extending outwards like a super-string spanning dimensions, is a wonderful thought, the most wonderful thought. We can listen to god now. The voice crackles from distant stars and black holes, and galaxies long dead. It beats in the heart of insects and pulsates within the cells of microscopic sea creatures. I listen now and I hear it. Static coming from metal superstructures, the whir of fans cooling semi conductors, the breathing of a lover. Ancient cultures recognized this connection, yet they lacked the technology to explain things. At the same time there was no technology to force disbelief. The ancient Chinese people used gunpowder not for war and cannon, but for fireworks. They didnt use the compass to navigate the seas and conquer their neighbors, they used the compass to align their buildings according to the Tao. Technology gives me spirituality, but for many it crushes. Why do we need a god when we have plastics and daytime tv and online shopping. The more technology advances the closer we will get to understanding our own existence and the presence of all matter around us, at the same time we get one step closer to enslaving ourselves and finding the perfect drug to suppress thought. Prometheus stole the fire of the gods and gave it to man so man could live better than the animals, knowing fully who terrible a punishment he would receive. An angry Zeus chained Prometheus to craggy mountain side where a hawk would swoop down every day and rip out Prometheus liver. We are Prometheus, and we are Zeus. We imprison ourselves with our own sacred fire because so few of us can see what promise there is. A man sits on his couch and hears nothing because he has convinced himself he sits in silence, when in fact the air around him is alive with life and information. Take a layer off and realize that what you thought was silence was really the voice of everything.

Ok, so I read that and it seemed pretty cool to me. Now here is where it get's weird. I found that in a folder titled personal on an old hard drive of *mine*. It is dated 7/22/2000. I wrote this, but I don't remember writing this. As a matter of fact, there's a whole load of stuff in that folder that I wrote that I don't ever remember writing. It was just a few minutes ago I found this, and I'm glad I did, but I'm not sure of the signifigance.

Perhaps in writing you discovered something inherent in the universe that is too big for human memory, so your thoughts just didn't retain it. Good thing you have your hard drive. wink

hehe. I'm always a sucker for a rant about the universe....
