Sometimes I feel like I'm searching for the feeling I had when I was 16 or 17 when I didn't know what was going on. That feeling of riding in a friends car, listening to some really really good mix tape (and by that I mean a DJ mix tape), the kind of tape that was a copy of a copy of a copy that some guy brought back from San Fran in '93, and ending up at some crazy ass party in a big dark city like New Orleans. There was a little bit of danger, mystery, and taboo.
Sometimes I can grab the edge of that feeling working at shows. If the music and the crowd is on and I'm doing my thing for a few thousand people I'll get that same rush. Two hours later I'll snap out of it, look around, and try to figure out what in the hell is going on and where my head has been for those past 2 amazing hours. I'm just patiently awaiting my next opportunity to do that.
I need to take a vacation and go somewhere really fucking cool. I didn't think it would happen but I'm going into club withdrawl, or maybe its music withdrawl, or club sluts withdrawl. I dunno.
Moving sucks, but I'm so glad to be away from campus. Frat boys yelling in the streets at 4 am was getting very old, just as the other filthy kids that lived in my complex and left crap everywhere. I'm borrowing a digital camera and will post some pictures soon.
