We all tell lies to ourselves. It's an important part of our characters. It helps us balance our self image against the actions that we actually take.

Here are a few of mine.

"This is my last tattoo."

"I'm not That competitive really."

"I can stop lifting weights anytime I like..."

One of the deeper lies that sustains me is that I am, in someway, inherently superior to people who go all stupid over things like kittens or shoes or boybands.

Ha, I smile to myself, those simple minded fools. I'm nothing like them. I am a serious perosn. I have deep philosophical thoughts. I am a master of my own destiny. I am not distracted by such simple minded frippery. Oh No.

This falsehood was cruelly shattered last night, when Handsome G and I were checking out some new snowboards.
Our conversation could be neatly summarised thusly;

G: Look at this one...

Me: Ohhhhhhh.... Pretty!

G: Look at this one...

Me: Squeeeeeel! I want one!

I am a humbled man.

Things that have grabbed my interested so far this week.

Rock Climbing/Ice Climbing/Mountaineering shennagins in general. People full on die doing this. My risk taking behaviour has found an outlet. ACE.

Wise Children by Angela Carter - It's ace. I'm crap at telling people why things are good, but this is great. If you've read The Bloody Chamber, I reccomend this big style, it is.... spectacular.

Coheed and Cambria - I've gotten back into these guys after a Hip Hop heavy period of musical listening. Angsty Songs about killing people = Ace on Toast.

Yeah she was. I'd have probably slept through it had it have been the other way around. I sleep like a dead person.

I've recently got back into Co&Ca too. They're touring in January so I think i'll be grabbing myself a ticket.
