OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!
Ok I had better start from the beginning...
Firstly, now Im not against remakes of foreign films full stop, dont get me wrong. Hell, I love The Departed (aka Infernal Affairs), Pulse and gee, even The Ring wasnt an entire fuck up. But for the love of fuck and all that is holy, who was responsible for the production for this enormous steaming pile of fucking shite!... (and Im being kind!)
Ok ok, Im a little slow off the mark here I know, but in my defence I have been aware of this film for years, I just didnt put 2 and 2 together and realise it was ripped off. Its only that it was on tv last night when I fully appreciated American cinema's complete disregard for other peoples hard work.
I feel SO sorry for Luc Besson. The whole original Taxi trilogy are great pieces of cinema. Fast, funny and more intelligent than they initially seem... and then Hollywood comes along, wipes its ass with the script, casts Queen fucking Latifah in place of Samy Naceri (Daniel), then completely fucks with the plot and characters!
Heads should fucking roll for this travesty!
Whoever gave it the go ahead should be shot!
Whoever was in charge or casting should be shot!
Infact anyone who was involved with this film should be banished from Hollywood indefinitely and never be allowed in front of, or behind a camera ever again!!!
