just because something can be said doesn't mean it should or needs to be said. it isn't necessary, no good can come from it, so why even bother.

art makes me feel impotent. but not in a bad way. maybe more like transcendent. but lingering in the basement is the untamed mongrel. that won't stop licking your heels. but then. would you want it to?

i feel like going on a long road trip by myself, across the country, with no destination in particular in mind. or perhaps just grabbing my backpack and my cd player and hitting the road and going on a pilgrimage. buuuuuut of course I won't because of stupid daily obligations and summer classes. bah!

yesterday i went to taylor's falls, where i metamorphed into a billy goat and took a picture of a tree growing out of a rock.

Our life is a journey
Through winter and night,
We look for our way
In a sky without light.

I probably should have spent my weekend reading for my classes, but I am very irresponsible. What two plays did you have to crunch in?

I don't think Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is something I'd see again, but a totally bizarre and silly movie like that was just what I needed to end my stressful week. I thought the backstory they gave Wonka was pretty absurd, but, other than that, it seemed very true to the malicious spirit of the book, which I liked. And I want to learn some of the Oompa-Loompa dances. And, um, that's my lame-ass capsule review.

so how about a road trip across the state with no destination in mind? Make it a weekend. Plan it out ahead of time so there are no daily obligations and go. I assume you have some type of transportation module to ride in/on.

I took Highway 7 west one day (I think, it may have been some other highway) and ended up on the South Dakota border. I never stopped except on the way back on a different road to get gas. It was a day trip for me. no where to go, and enjoyed the whole trip.
