Some people have no fucking right to complain
(like me, and my petty enthrallments and infatuations that will likely subside over time)
not when a good man with a good wife and good kids is in a diabetic coma from which he will never awaken
and will hereafter be fed and kept alive with tubes for however long whoever wants
while his best friend is in the hospital, vomiting blood, because of an infection in a wound that was received 9 years ago when a fire burned his house down and 97% of his body beyond recognition
requiring him to ask HIS friend to babysit his kids while he's still in the hospital
(because his wife can't take anymore sick days and who ELSE is there to babysit in this shit of an impoverished neighborhood)
despite a death in her family and her having to borrow money from other friends because of not being able to pay her bills or make rent or live above the poverty line
(but don't feel bad because it's always people's own fault that they're poor).
Suddenly my measly concerns
(such as a cute Kung-Fu-practicing Chinese girl in a silk uniform
or driving a friend from an Irish pub in Minneapolis to the Mall of America parking lot at 1:30 AM
or an unrelated aching of the heart)
don't amount to dick.
and with good reason.
just close your eyes and sleep sweet dreams
of me & you with wings on our feet.
and then awake and get back to reading Thoreau
because even though you want to help
what really is there that you can do?

Quietly did a decent sandman-but I absolutly hated his x-men stuff, and I detested let me say this again DETESTED his art in All Star Superman
which leads me to Morrison-I loved his first few arcs on New X-Men-right until Weapon Plus, then i got pissy.
I went back and bought some trades of his JLA stuff-his supposed gold mine in comics and i thought they were TOTAL shit-Sea Guy? shit. All Star Superman-shit. I Won't Touch WE-3 or 7 Soldiers because of him.
