Ink can absorb lyric and song
because I can feel myself willing
not to dial you
after sitting beneath the needle for hours on end where they play songs
that are so much a part of you.

But you don't satisfy a part of me.
Your negativity was exhausting.
I choose to be positive
and if I choose to attract positive I cannot choose you.

That sounds so simple.
You see he's a visionary.
He sees beyond what I see.
He used to anyway, until I adopted
because no positive belief system is born of me naturally.

No matter.
All living things are half-light and half-dark
and though I choose light,
some of my art that is embedded carries you in it.
How tangibly poetic.
How simplistically complex.
