I woke this morning to bright sun, perfect blue skies, and the sound of birds singing. I walked downstairs through air that hugged my skin and threw open my front door to be greeted by my garden filled with flowers. Taking a deep breath of glorious morning, I smelled - the Pulp Mill. As I gagged, I laughed at perfection.

James, my self medicating, lawn mowing, homeless friend, rang my doorbell barely able to stand. He needed to sleep. He is on my back porch wrapped in my quilt and with his head next to his girlfriends on my pillow. Im saddened by the cost he pays for his freedom, or maybe for his enslavement.

Speaking of freedom, I relished yesterday. I had a Saturday that many adults wouldnt think twice about, but to me it was precious. It is incredible to feel that I could go for a run, eat a long lunch, look in a shop, and spend the whole day away from the house with out feeling being pulled home by guilt, or longing, or responsibility. I really want to thank Suicidal_George for keeping it going with a wonderful night of spontaneity (and great company!).

I have to add I love happy hours that last all day and I can sit outside sipping Mojito's while my skin turns pink for the first time this year.

Im not sure which is worse - being alone when you desperately want someone in your life, but never meet them; or, when you have someone that you want to be with, but cant.

Now the southern sky is growing dark, and the trees are showing the undersides of their leaves. Im going to sit on my balcony and hope for lightning.
