I had two profound experiences this weekend.
The first came at the supermarket counter, the clerk ringing up my weeks groceries said This is what I love about Fred Meyers -you can always find something you need. Okay Dokey then, Ill keep that in mind when I go to Fred Meyer's with the express purpose of buying what I need - like food.
The second came from the CNN news ticker. Thrown in among all the rest of the news du jour was this profundity, Today is the 65 day of the year leaving 290 left until next year. Really? This led me to the startling revelation (using all my fingers and toes) that there is 365 days in a year!!! I watched for several hours more but there was not a follow up story.

Poor precious little fingers smashed instead of the rock. All I can do is kiss them and try to dry your tears. I wish I could spread my love like a cloak to protect you from pain and to always keep you safe. But, luckily, I can't. Because more than anything I want you to bruise yourself against life so you can know joy.

The Doums are accomplished by hitting the drum in the middle and the Tec is hitting one hand's fingers on the edge of the drum to the side, and the Ca is hitting the other hand's fingers on the edge of the drum at the top. The 'Doum' is very deep and bass-like, making me want to hip drop all the way 'round the room.
