i wrecked a 3 million dollar armored vehicle the other day.
i am bruised and battered, but ultimately, i'm fine.
so i am in some unkown base north of baghdad wasting time until my Stryker is out of the mechanic's shop.
the illusive conversations between another and myself are nice, though too infrequent to wage bets on when the next shall come. it's something i'll never get used to.
interesting fact...
i read slaughterhouseV by k. vonnegut quite a few years ago and thought it the lesser of his novels. so i get sent out for this week long mission (i am in the middle of it with a broken rib), and discovered it to be the only book still on my stryker so i decided to read it again.
it's amazing, really...mostly though because i can now understand the things war can make you feel, especially as a writer and less of a warrior than your comrades.
so i shall go shower as soon as i can find a towel, and enjoy my time off before returning once again to the 110* heat.
bah.

slaughterhouse-5 is good stuff. it's been YEARS since i read vonnegut (high school!), i feel like he deserves my attention again...
