it's begining to set in as to how real the fact that i am going to iraq is. everyday is one closer to being over there, and it's a pretty scary thing. i have mentioned before that i am not so much worried about getting shot or wounded, although that is part of it. i am mostly afraid of not being able to handle some of this shit i'm going to see and deal with. if i lose one of my patients, i will have that person's life on my chest for the rest of my life.
i have been listning to iron and wine constantly lately. so good.

dude if one of your patients dies it won't be your fault, I believe that if it's your time to go, it's your time to go and there is nothing you can do to stop it. As for the shit you might see out there, a friend is a combat photographer and went to Africa he told me what he saw out there changed his whole perception of what humans are capable of. If you keep in touch I'll be here to talk to you if you need to get a weight off of your mind.
