This week's "homework" was our favorite film/movie.
I don't know how this may seem, but my favorite movie is Howl's Moving Castle.
Based on the novel by the same name, we follow Sophie's adventure and missadventures after her encounter with the great wizard Howl. Directed by Hayao Miyazaki and made by Studio Ghibli, premiered in 2004 and it was supposed to be Mr. Miyazaki's last movie ever.
I love this movie because of the fantasy elements and Sophies journey. She starts being just a simple hat maker girl, with low self esteem; Howl is a young man with fears and problems of his own, unwilling to face his problems, and just running away.
There are also a lot of characters that make the tale super funny and gorgeous ♥ I cannot begin to explain how much I love this movie, I have watched it over 7 times I think, in every language posible. It always makes me feel better and happier.
URGH and the artwork!!! I've always loved Studio Ghibli's style, but what drives me nuts (in a good way) is Mr. Miyazaki's direction, how he puts everything together, how they show the scenary and my god, it's amazing!! He also directed Spirited Away, wich won an oscar. And it's just as beautiful.
The good thing about this movie, is that we get to see a range of scenary that we did not have in Spirited Away, and we get to see more stories.
This is my favorite movie, for all those reasons and more, it just makes me feel amazing. (Also, the soundtrack is brutally beautiful)
If you see it, tell me what you think!!
