I teach a lot of youngsters how to play drums and recently there's been a trend I've noticed... I feel like parents are overloading their kids with too many after school activities. Just in the last month I've lost 3 drum students to the excuse of "well he has too much in his plate" or "we can't fit his lessons in his schedule" -- Parents need to stop overloading their kids with activities. Yes it's great to get them involved with different things but eventually this will cause them to burn out! They are still young and have a long life ahead of them to try different things, it doesn't have to be all at once. In my opinion, Kids should spend time doing at least 2 activities they love and want to do. Afterwards, There should be some time for family and homework.
