Just got back from a street festival in Silverlake (LA) where Isaac Hayes was the last act for the evening. How COOL. I love seeing shows like that in surprising places. He was deep and smooth.

I can't believe I've been in LA for a year now. It's gone by so fast. I definately miss Austin and New Orleans and working freelance and having so much freedom, but I don't miss being broke and unable to pay my bills. and that was my problem with the protest. it may have been fun, but it didn't do any good at all! i can understand if it has an objective and a way to achieve it, but this was totally unfocused. these kids (both young and old, physically,) might as well have gone to a fair or a carnival or a concert.

There was this moment during the Bjork concert tonight when she was playing "Hyperballad" and I looked over my shoulder and the full moon was just cresting the hill. What a great show!!!

yay...a weekend off with no agenda (except all the things I need to catch up on). no out of town guest...no travelling. i loved my last two weekends for the above activities but i love this weekend for having none of those things...
