My name is Jacqueline. I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. I have no support from my family and little to no support in the town I was born and raised. My community and government are not supportive. The support I have are other chronically ill and disabled friends who, also, have trouble with support and most especially financially. Losing the ability to walk is practically inevitable with my genetic condition until a cure is discovered. To retain any ability I have or will have in the future I need to have the assistance of a wheelchair. One I am able to lift and carry. I have exhausted my resources and I have reached out to everyone I am able to who can help. I have no support in my everyday life physically. I do not believe that because I am inflicted with an incurable illness, I should be forced to lie decomposing alone in bed for the rest of my life. I am to a point where the only person who can help is ME. I will never give up my fight to live as manageable of a life as anyone in the world deserves. I need the ability to raise my strength, so I can continue to fight for justice and equality for those, alike me, who have trouble being heard or who are stuck laying lifeless in their bed. I love you. I'm here for you. Regardless of whether or not you can help monetarily, I am here for you and I love you. Always. - See more at: http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/need-wheels-hips-are-shot-my-hope-is-not-/104838#sthash.E4eYHFNk.dpuf

My darling friend Jaq has Ehlers Danlos Syndrome too and like me and Izzy/Apocalyptic Kitten she has reached a point where her hips are so damaged she cannot get out of her home without a wheelchair. In America we have very very limited help from the government and medical system to access treatment and mobility aids. In Canada EDS is even more poorly understood. Please help my friend if you can spare anything at all. Or just watch her video and realize how fucked things are for so many people in similar situations.
