On the day of my best friend, Ashley's, funeral, February 13, 2010, my head was dark and my thoughts were scattered. It was dark to me. She had just passed away a week before, February 5, 2010. But still the sky shined brightly with beautiful rays. I sat on the diving board, my favorite past time, for hours hoping she would just reappear. Hoping she would just give me a sign that she was okay. That everything would be okay. And I looked up, and saw the sky. It was then that I knew still on a sad gloomy day in our hearts, some things remain beautiful. And she always told me to find the positive things in life. But oh do I miss her. Her mother thinks that she is an angel in the sky. And her mother too now looks to the sky when she misses her daughter, and she finds pictures in the clouds, and takes photographs. She thinks she is an angel up there. She finds what looks to her like an angel or a butterfly, and says "It's Ashley. She's okay." Sometimes the sky can help us. Because every day, it has a different message, and is still beautiful.
