The past two weeks I've been on a lot of adventures in my city, and the a couple of the surrounding cities near Toronto.
As I woke up at my parents house this morning, I reflected upon my crazy adventures that occurred over the last two weeks. Most of the summer I've been working hard in the morning, then hitting up the gym and spending the rest of the day in my room working on tiny projects. I'm shocked at the amount of traveling I did in such a short period of time, the different crowds I surrounded myself with, and the fact that I was so wiped out at the end of it that I decided to return to my moms house so I could sleep in my real bed for once!
Adventure one started two Wednesdays ago, when a friend I had met while backpacking Europe last summer had come to Canada for a week. They were staying downtown Toronto, and since it would have taken me over an hour to get there by TTC I decided to stay with them for the week. I had never been to that part of Toronto before, and it was awesome to explore my own city! We entire East end of Toronto, and I learned a lot about my city! I even took him to Homesick at Sneaky Dee's, a scene he wasn't very used to, and showed him how the punk kids in Canada do it.
That adventure ended Sunday night as they boarded their plan back to Australia.
Adventure two begins the Monday night after they leave. 2 am Tuesday morning I wake up, and load my car with mine and my friends bag, and head downtown to pick him up from work. 3:30 am we depart from downtown and head towards Montreal in my tiny 14 year old beater of a car with no cd player and no ac! We make it to Montreal by 9:30 am, and deiced to nap in the hotel for a couple hours. Afterwards we spend the entire day exploring Old Montreal! I've never been there in the summer, and it was amazing! We found an amazing tattoo shop called Oly Anger, and a small manga lounge called The Otaku Lounge. Not to mention street festivals and amazing food everywhere.
Day 2 of Montreal started with my friends tattoo, followed by more food, a nap, and then my tattoo. I was supposed to start at 6 pm, but we didn't start till 10 pm! Marco was absolutely amazing, and my new tattoo is beautiful! I left Montreal after the tattoo finished, which was about 1 am Thursday.
I made it back to Toronto by 6 am, and I was only an hour late to work that morning, but I must say that staying up 24 hours, driving overnight to another province, and then working for 8 hours takes a tole on you.
After sleeping the entire day Thursday, and working Friday morning, I resumed my schedule of work, gym, nap. However Friday night I headed outside of Toronto again! I drove to Hamilton to watch some Fringe shows! I caught up over drinks with one of my beautiful roommates who had moved back home for the summer to work, and then we went to see an amazing show at the Baltimore House!
Once the night was done and I had said good bye to my roommate till the end of summer, I drove up north to my moms house so that I could finally collapse and hopefully get some good R&R in the beautiful Canadian countryside.
I have never driven that much in my life, and it was a great learning experience. I don't think I would have been able to do that trip to Montreal, like I had planned on two years ago, but now I feel even more pumped for my Vancouver trip!
Thanks for the read guys! I've got some more R&R to do ;)
