in two weeks my schooling comes to an end and exams begin. I've started to think a lot recently about what I've learned since the semester started, and I mean life lessons not school lessons.

You are so right. It is ok to say no. You don't need to pretend, why? I know people do it all the time. But be honest to yourself. In that way you open up peoples eyes and they might help you or wrap an arm around you. I loved my granparents a lot too. After more than 20 years I still miss them and think of them often. They are still some kind of a moral compass for me. Hope you cherish the nice memories, they will help you. <3
