Off topic, but hey thanks for stopping by and saying hello.
Now, back on track. Try to live by the What Would Batman Do and you won't go wrong. Use your gut instinct, sometimes the brain is secretely, or not so secretely working against you.

I know what you mean about photos! I've wanted to jump into 'em plenty of times. And never come out.

Keats didn't finish medical school. From the sounds of it, nobody around him expected him to. He dropped out to become a full-time poet. My understanding is that he did the occasional surgery, but it rarely turned out well.

(Joke, of course.) biggrin

Edited to add: I know what you mean about Keats' poetry. Can be difficult, frustrating, especially when there's so much more-accessible stuff out there.

Why do people in Connecticut drive in reverse? I can't put it into words, but if you drive around there for a few months, it makes perfect sense.

Have you ever wondered what the three most influential books ever written were? Which three books have revolutionized the world that we live in today, for better or for worse?

My 3 picks:
(1) The Bible
(2) The Origin of Species
(3) Mein Kampf

Hmmm ... good question. I'll have to get back to you with an answer, it's been a very long day.

Yes, my feline is quite tubby ... she's also very obnoxious and occasionally vicious for no reason. She's still my little fat buddy, though.

Most of us will go through life without leaving a lasting imprint on the world. As nameless faces in the crowd, we are neither heroes nor villains. We constitute the multitudes forgotten by history. Yes, history will mention us, but only as part of the larger whole. Is there nothing worse than to live life so unexceptionally? Most do not possess the academic drive to...

"Happiness is not a destination, but a method of living."

The journey matters as much as, if not more than, the destination. The prize comes not at the end, but at every step along the way. But, on second thought, I am plagued by doubt. What is happiness? And what is truth? What is truth if not merely the negation of falsity? Intuitively, truth is...

Peach, too! As long as it's not artificially flavored and has chunks of fruit in it. I also like the right kind of vanilla: Dreamery or B&J's. No French vanilla. No Breyer's, which seemed somehow ... crumbly the last time. I'm also partial to Blue Moon, for childhood-sentimental reasons.

What is nothingness?

Is it not something if it has been named? Since if it were truly *nothing* then it would not have the name nothing. Only that which is something has a name. If nothing is named as such, then it is something. Nothing is nothing.

I went to http://www.nothing.com out of sheer curiosity. Heh. If nothing is pure zero, it is something, it...

Nothings nothingness makes it something. If you had 5 apples, and they get stolen you're left with nothing...which is still something. Kind of a comforting fact actually.

"An object in possession seldom retains the charm it had in pursuit." -- said by Pliny

What does this quote mean to you?

Does it pertain to "objects" of affection? Is the most enjoyable part of a relationship in the "chase?" Is it the challenge which makes an object so alluring? Once the desired is caught, does it lose its glitter? Remember when you were...
