Is there anything I am not allergic too? My eyes are endlessly watery and itchy, my throat is scratchy, and I am a sneezzerriffic machine.
efficacy:
You're not allergic to water.

It's sizzling here. I am a bun in the oven. No, I don't have a bun in the oven, I AM a BUN in the OVEN. If only I had baking powder or baker's yeast inside of me, I'd fluff out and rise like a regular loaf of bread.

Today I had another interview for another position - and I got the job! Hooray! I...

Hey you! It is hot here in Vietnam, too! Today we went to Cambodia, and it was around 35 degrees C. The weather was kinda overcast and I guess we were pretty lucky, since the temperatures have been averaging 42!

Congrats on getting the job!

hey you changed your name

Do YOU watch American Idol? I admit it - I became addicted to the show this season. I am rooting for Fantasia Moreno. She has such a radiant million-dollar smile.

I spent the better part of the day at the ice-skating rink. It was wonderful to be out of the heatstrokeinducingweather, and surrounded by cool and refreshing ice instead. Yes, amazingly, there is an ice-skating...

Eeeurururueerrraaaarrrrrrggggggrgrrhh! mad Training for my new job was switched from tues and wed (today & tomorrow) to this fri (may7) and sat (may8) instead. Under normal circumstances this would not produce riotous indignation, but I had previous plans made for Saturday - plans made more than 6 months ago, my cousin Kat's wedding. I so dearly needed/wanted to attend this nuptial ceremony & reception, it is...

I think you should tell them to go to hell and go to the wedding anyway. Of course, that solution wouldn't be very conducive to continued employment...

I think that you are right about the lack of a boyfriend. But it is still lonely to watch your friends being so cute and sweet and happy, and know that you can't do that with anyone right now.
suicidal_george:
You should go to the wedding. They changed the schedule today - so four days notice, right? They're fucked if they won't make an exception for you.

Roasting and toasting today, no air-conditioning, just fans turned high. Tennis play was cut short this morning because of this infernal 100-degree weather. Beads of sweat quickly gather in every crevice of my heat-stricken form. We are wilted flowers under the southwestern sun.

Very true. I long ago learned the truism that 99.999% of all conversations on the internet never lead to getting laid, although it's that tentative hope that keeps a lot of websites going. I remember once, almost as a joke, I signed up for a online dating service. They made it sound like it was your passport to getting laid every night of the week. I'll admit, I was curious. They never actually charged me for the account, so I couldn't complain. But there were something like 6 men to every woman listed, and over half of the women listed hadn't been active in over a year, and half of the rest were prostitutes using the service to recruit business - cyberwhores, who woulda thunk? - and the rest were tired of bored, horny guys Wr1t1ng 2 th3m lik th1s - h3y w4nn4 f\/ck?!?!111

I got some material for a good sitcom episode, but that's about it.

After that, I simply accepted the fact that most people go online for conversation, and really, that's the reason I was there, too.

So yeah, boobs and journals. Go us.

But still, it's interesting to consider, occasionally, whether or not the person on the other end is really what they say they are.

Not that I'd ever know, anyway.

Ha! Debating whether to watch GODSEND tonight despite the atrocious movie reviews it received:

+ Roger Ebert: "...a bad thriller, completely lacking in psychological or emotional truth."

+ Boston Globe: "Godsend makes swill of religion, science, family, and morality. It has the sensitivity of a cactus, the ingenuity of a square wheel, and the integrity of a CEO."

+ Rolling Stone: "Every scare is telegraphed....

I am a snifflesaurus rex. It has been like this since February. It comes and goes like the ocean tides, leaving snot trails where otherwise the seaweed would be.

The coffin arrived yesterday. I ordered it online and it came to my doorstep so fast I can scarcely believe it.

I watched Benny & Joon again, and it revived my lustations for Johnny - this...

I used to play the cello...from ages 10 to 17. Now I only play the guitar (well, and the koto...a Japanese harp-like instrument) and not even very well. What do you play?

molonel:
I would join, but I can't play a stringed instrument to save my life.

One of my best friends since middle school called me today. She came back here to visit while on spring break from a university located in Antigua. In many ways we are similar - she understands my tendency to avoid social encounters, and she understands when I won't answer the phone, or return messages. For the past few years, however, I've become increasingly more reclusive,...
