religion is about as significant as hair color.

no matter what non-sense you believe, there is one essential truth: give 'em love, and they'll love you too. i dated a nazarene guy, a jewish guy, an atheist, a catholic, an agnostic, a presbyterian and now i'm with a great feller who happens to be mormon. and bill o'reilly is a jehovah's witness (apparently, there is considerable doubt in this particular statement although i could've SWORN that he mentioned it on one of his shows a longish while ago...it isn't something that is advertised), and it doesnt make him any better or any worse. one of my best friends is a sunni muslim. i grew up catholic because of my mom's insistence, so i went through sunday school, CCD, and went through the standard sacraments: baptism, communion, reconciliation, and confirmation. but guess what? none of it stopped me from unlearning all of it. my dad's side of the family grew up buddhist, and you know what, they are just as encumbered as everyone else.

after weeks of indecision, i finally went ahead and bought the hair dye: blue, pink and red. i still have yet to acquire a pastel purple color but it was out-of-stock.

thank goodness, unlike choice of religion, no one gets killed over choice of hair color.

recent movies seen: 1) The Jacket: time-travel with adrien brody and 2) Cursed a cheesy wannabe 80s movie.

there is a HUGE blood-sucking mosquito hovering above me. somebody save me.

I wonder what it would be like if people got to choose their skin color?

There can be many benefits to a spiritual practice, regardless of whether it takes the form of religion or not. People who have a spiritual practice have been shown to live longer and have fewer health problems. I think people are entitled to practice the faith of their choice as long as it brings peace and wisdom to them. It should improve quality of life, not oppress those who think differently.

I'm really happy that I live in a place where I can be an agnostic buddhist and not be persecuted.

Of course, I could worship a potato if I placed enough faith in it. Cynicism doesn't keep me warm at night... tongue

If I could choose my skil color it would be a sort of brown, maybe like Halle Berry. Of course, this would only be if racism didn't exist. Racism makes me like my lily-white pinky-grey skin, because I get to avoid discrimination. But in a world without hate, I'd go for Halle Berry skin. Or I'd just go for Halle Berry, with or without discrimination (if some bigot came up to me and said he/she didn't like race mixing, I coul say back "Fuck you, I'm dating Halle Berry. HALLE BERRY!!!").

Anyway.
