i was saying goodnight to a friend before and i said "im gonna 'shove off' for the night", i meant 'take off' and she knew what i meant, but the term is from my druggie days, thats what junkies do, shove off, or more accurately 'push off', and to add to the irony cocktail i was listening to the song "chinese rocks' by jt and the heartbreakers, which is about being a junkie, although it's not really surprising that i'd be listening to junkie music, kurt cobain, brad from sublime, shannon hoon from blind melon, the dude from alice in chains, and johnny thunders, all brilliant musical addicts.
