I'm going to a wedding today. Lots of friends in from out of town, open bar, dancing.... Should be a lot of fun.

But holy christ do I feel shitty. The wedding's really fucking with my head. It's because I broke up with my gf of 5 years about 3 months ago. She and I were planning on going to the wedding together. It's also...

I went to this thread for posting random song lyrics, and put this up:

Too low to find my way
Too high to wonder why

by the Thievery Corporation. I've got the CD "The Mirror Conspiracy" in my car right now, and those lyrics are from one of the tracks. And I just have to say, sometimes I hate it when I listen to a...

Got back from Vegas Sunday night. Feeling somewhat recharged, as I often do when I finally get to see my crazy family and things end up fun instead of dysfunctional.

They've got my grandma on motherfucking risperdol.... If anyone is familiar with that drug, then I'm sorry, because I know how much it fucking sucks, and I know you've probably already got some fucked up...

skizzyk:
God, I hate to hear that your g-ma is on Risperdal. I am very familiar with this drug and it can really fuck you up especially in large doese. How much is she on? Do you know? I'd be curious to know just how much she is on. This is not a drug you fuck around with. If the doc or the famil doesn;t want her on it, then why is she on it? Is she really just out of her mind? And even if she is, if it's against the wishes of both the doc and family, it should be ya'lls right to stop the medication. Just like it's the right of the patient to stop their meds if they don't like the effects. It's that simple. The patient has the right to act crazy if they want. So your g-ma acts crazy, disoriented, has dimentia, is schizophrenic...let her live in her own world while she's still living and not live in a haze the rest of life. What's it going to hurt? If she's not hurting the staff or the other patients then what's the problem? If she is just talking or acting out of her head and that is why they put her on the medicine, they are doing it for their own benefit and that is wrong in my book. Having her all doped up to the point that she is catatonic is REDICULOUS!!! I've seen what this drug can do and I think it's just rediculous that the docs would put people on such high doese of this shit. It literally makes them so sleepy and out of it that they don't know whether they're coming or going. And that is wrong! I mean in the case of your g-ma you have to really consider the patient as a whole and what is better for the patient as a whole. It should be looked at as what kinda of quality of life is she going to have for the rest of her life and is the way you want her to live it out. And the family has the right to make that decision.

So that's my veiw on the situation anyway. Not like it matters but just wanted to express it. If you want to talk about it in more depth, just private message me anytime as I have a lot of experience with psychological stuff because I'm CRAZY myself. Ha! Ha! Not even joking here. I was wondering about your 93 y/o g-ma anyway and how she was doing. WOW! 93 years old! That's awesome!

Glad you had a good time in Vegas and are recharged. I'm also happy that you got to spend some quality time with your family.

Don't hesitate to talk with me if you want to.

I'm driving down to Vegas tomorrow.

The above sentence should be filled with giddy anticipation, or at least some type of world-weary debauched enthusiasm, but I'm actually going to see my sick grandma. She's ninety-goddamn-three. Probably not long for this world.

The good thing is that my brothers are also coming down to Vegas, from L.A. and San Francisco. So there's that. And I'll have...
