Well the good news is, things are almost back to normal at work. The complaint filed was in a way justified. The maximum hours an employee is allowed to work in a single week is 48. We normally work over this in production time to get the papers out to deadline. Where the person who reported the company to the labour board went wrong, is that they didn't try talking to one of our bosses first.

So we had about a week of horrible work, and then the ministry finished their investigation. Basically it was a procedural thing. Everyone I work with knows we work stupid hours at the end of the month, but there was never an actaul application for excess hours of work applied to the government.

Now things have changed a bit, and I hate to say it, but some of it is for the better.

For example, we now can not work in excess of 60 hours a week, or 16 hours a day. So nobody is ever expected to just stay until their paper is done anymore.

The unfortunate thing is this has left a mark on the company moral. Our bosses brought back all of our other rights and privledges, but, this year, no Dominican trip, which sucks.

Still, I'm just happy to have things reasonably back to normal.
