My best friend is gone.
My grandfather died this morning. I miss him already.

He was ready to move on because he knew everyone was going to be okay. I just feel like I'm not. The few things I gathered from his house today hurt to look at- this photo, his old glasses that I used to take and hide when I was eight, his old fashioned shaving brushes, his bible, and his AA book from when he was an alcoholic, marked to the passage;
"I pray that I may be an example to others of a better way of living. I pray that I may carry on in spite of hindrances."
He made my life better by knowing that there are genuinely good people around. I will carry on even though I miss him.
Everything comes in waves. I know I'll be all right.
